you give me the electric twist.

Late last year I picked up the group, A Fine Frenzy. I'd heard of them before, but this time I got so hooked I went out and bought their CD, Bomb In A Birdcage. Their frontwoman, Alison Sudol, is one of my favorite frontwomen/female vocalists. And you have to be totally awesome to get on that list...by the way.

So, for this post I have 2 videos and a couple of songs to tell you about. : )
First, the videos. I just watched this video and fell in love with it. It's one of the best videos i've seen in a while. It's simple yet VERY creative, not to mention quirky. (I love that word! haha.)
The video was made for the song, 'Blow Away'.
The second video is a little stop-motion short film, but Alison Sudol's music is booming in the background. It's got all my favorites in it: birdcages, redheads, scissors, teacups, keys, miniature sailboats, umbrellas, bows and bottles. (I'm so weird. awesome.)You name it, this video pretty much has it all. This film is called 'Lost Things'.

Now, on to the songs. I have a few favorites, actually...

I loved her red hair. She's gone blonde though. It looks great on her, but the red was killer.

That's all for now, i'm afraid.
Til next time, y'all.
XOXO

Songs for you!

I have two three songs for you to listen to at the moment. One's a remix. : )
The first song is 'Testify' by Carney. This song sounds really Southern Religious rock. It's pretty awesome. The second song is 'Eyes' by Rogue Wave. It's an easy listening kind of song. You can't beat it. The third song is 'In Spirit Golden (DC Breaks Remix)'  by I Blame Coco. It sounds like the original song. But, it's got a cuter/harder beat to it. (To listen to the song, click on the titles.)

That's all for now, i'm afraid.
Til next time y'all.

This one goes out to Sting...and his kids...

I  love Sting's music.
I also love Sting (aka Gordon Sumner) for making such awesome children.

I'm a fan of his daughter, Coco Sumner (I Blame Coco).
Her music is so light and energetic. It's freaking amazing.

And now I happen to be a fan of his son, Coco's half-brother, Joe Sumner.
He sings for a band called Fiction Plane.
His music is a little bit heavier, but it is also FREAKING AMAZING.

I've only listened to two of their songs so far. So, the songs I recommend for you to listen to are:

(His voice sounds like his father's. He REALLY sounds like Sting in 'It's A Lie.)

I'm obsessed with his kids. I mean not really, but the idea of them. I mean there's 6 of them! I find them very interesting for some reason. It's kinda weird...
Here are all 6 kids from oldest to youngest:

I could never have that many children. I'd go crazy for sure.

That's all for now, i'm afraid.
Til next time, y'all.

Modern girls & old fashioned men.

This post goes out to Regina Spektor and The Strokes. I'm a big fan of both, to tell you the truth. And when I stumbled onto this video of their duet on youtube, i freaked. It's great and seriously one of the best duets i've ever heard. So, if you're a fan of Regina Spektor or The Strokes or both...watch this video and a take listen! You won't regret it. SERIOUSLY.

You can listen to it here.
Or watch the actual video here.

Material Girl.

So, this post is for a playlist and it is also provides a chance for me to express my love for Audrey Kitching's amazing, yet freakishly expensive, clothing line.

So, the song I recommend for this post is "I Want Candy" by Bow Wow Wow.

Love it. : )

I recommend the footage from the movie, Marie Antoinette though. It fits better with the music, I think. You can watch it here.

I think this clothing line is great, but I don't understand why some of it costs more than $30. That's some bull if i've ever seen it. Still, I tip my hat to Miss Audrey Kitching. That girl can work it. : )
(She's the girl in the 1st picture. You can check out her blog here. Or shop her line, Tokyolux here.)

That's all for now, i'm afraid.
Til' next time, y'all.

Be quick to be kind.

This blog post goes out to one song. The song is by I Blame Coco and it's called 'Quicker'.

You can listen to this song here.

The beginning of the song is my favorite part. She's got such a great voice. But, since she's Sting's daughter..i'm not suprised...

Make it all worth while.

This blog post goes out to Van Morrison. I grew up listening to his music with my family so i've always been a fan. The music is always smooth and sweet. It's like honey...Tupelo Honey. I just made a Van Morrison joke. haha...anyway. This music is very dear to my heart, so it's nice to go back to my roots and listen to his absolutely lovely music.

Recommended song for this blog post: 'Someone Like You' by Van Morrison.
(I also recommend 'Brown Eyed Girl' and 'Moondance')

That's all for now i'm afraid.
Til next time y'all.

“Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.”

I hope you will have a wonderful year, that you’ll dream dangerously and outrageously, that you’ll make something that didn’t exist before you made it, that you will be loved and that you will be liked, and that you will have people to love and to like in return. And, most importantly (because I think there should be more kindness and more wisdom in the world right now), that you will, when you need to be, be wise, and that you will always be kind."

Here is my second mini playlist! This kind of playlist usually comes before the actual playlists.

This is a special mini playlist due to the fact that it has 10 tracks instead of 5. So, you should feel pretty happy right now. You just got MORE of my AWESOME music. haha

For this playlist these songs are going to sound a bit dark. All of the songs are beautiful, but they give off a sad, dark and haunting effect which makes me love them even more! You need some of those songs in the mix, too!

Here are a few songs for your enjoyment!

Send you my love on a wire..

This post for yet another new blog song. I changed it from Maximalist by Baths to Black Sheep by Metric. I felt that this song went with the feeling of my blog at the moment. I've been listening to this song for a little while now on repeat, and I love it. I've loved Metric for a few years now. They're one of my favorite bands. SERIOUSLY.

This song is written and performed by Metric but it was in the Soundtrack for Scott Pilgrim vs. The World. So, it's also performed by an actress in the movie, Brie Larson. Her version is just as good as Metric's version. So, if you want to listen to the Metric version, stay on my blog, or if you want to listen to the Brie Larson version click here (this version has clips from the movie).

That's all for now i'm afraid.

New Blog Song!

This new blog song is called 'Maximalist' and it's by a group known as Baths. I loved this song for quite some time. It's very inspirational to me. It kind of makes you think about life. It does that to me at least. Enjoy!

My Prayers and Thoughts are all on you...

My thoughts and prayers go out to Kat Von D. I heard on facebook she was victim to a house fire and the death of her beloved cat, Valentine. I would be extremely depressed if I had a house fire and my cat died. I don't know what i'd do if Rufus died. I would be destoyed. Seriously.

This one goes out to Mumford and Sons.

Oh, Mumford and Sons. I know I haven't known about you long, but your song "Little Lion Man" reminds me of those days when I was little when my family and I would listen to nothing but folk music. It reminds me of the good days. And your being British adds multitudes of cool points...

Recommended Song for this post: 'Little Lion Man' by Mumford and Sons.

It sounds very Scottish...which I love. (I'm not sure if they're actually Scottish, but it sounds that way. haha)

That's it for now, i'm afraid.
